  • Kindergarten Registration February 11-13, 2015

    Children must be five years old on or before September 15, 2015 to be eligible to start kindergarten in the fall. Kindergarten registration will be held on a walk-in-basis at your neighborhood school (school boundaries can be accessed on the District website: www.scsd2.com.

  • Teachers and SJHS Seventh Grade Class of 2013-2014 Receive Recognition

    At the recent November 3rd board meeting, the Board of Trustees thanked the seventh grade Sheridan Junior High School teachers for their tremendous hard work and success. Their students last year, the seventh grade class of 2013-2014, achieved the highest PAWS test scores in the state in all three areas of reading, writing, and mathematics.

  • Henry A. Coffeen Cornerstone Ceremony Marks Completion of New Building

    The new Henry A. Coffeen Elementary School will welcome students through its doors on the first day of the 2014-2015 school year. In recognition of this momentous occasion, the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Wyoming will perform a traditional cornerstone ceremony for the new Henry A. Coffeen Elementary School.

  • Nate the Great Sets Record With 500 Mile Journey

    A journey of 500 miles requires determination from anyone, but Nate the Great especially showed what it means to persevere through challenge. Despite being told he would be confined to a wheelchair by age 12, Nate recently completed 2,000 laps around the Sagebrush Mileage Club track - and in doing so set a new school record. During Nate's final lap, the entire school turned out in celebration along with former teachers and a number of community leaders.

    On Thursday, May 22, 2014, Sheridan County School District #2 staff members gathered at Sheridan High School to celebrate those among their ranks retiring in 2014. Additional recognition was given to continuing contract teachers, who have now reached a significant milestone in their career.

    SCSD#2 Elementary Schools in the Top of the State

    Five Sheridan County School District #2 elementary schools were recently ranked as the top five elementary schools in Wyoming, according to study performed by a company named Niche.     Story School Students are Skating into Good Books!

    Reading at home is an important habit for children to have, and studies have shown that students who read independently do better on tests and have both a stronger vocabulary and core knowledge base. Reading is also habit forming; the more a person reads, the more they want to read.

    Story Kid’s Cooking Club

    To meet the needs of the Story Students and families, Story School offers an after-school program four days a week called “Kid’s Club”. This extra time in school not only gives the students a chance to finish their homework with assistance, but also provides extra remediation and enrichment opportunities for the kids.
