*Happy New Year to all of our HP families! We are looking forward to the best year ever at HP! We have the best staff, students, and families that one could possibly wish for. Thanks for all you do!
*School starts back up on Wednesday, January 4th.
*The HP After School Program will start again on Wednesday, January 4th. The bus will be running that day.
*We will start our Winter MAP testing as soon as we get back to school on the 4th. The purpose of this testing session is to get another look at the progress of our students, and identify areas of weakness that we need to focus on. Data drives our instructional decisions.
*There is no school for students on Friday, January 20th.
*Read-A-Thon! The PTO Read-A-Thon was a HUGE success! Our students read over 250,000 minutes and raised over $19,000! Every dollar will be used to help our HP students! What a great effort by our PTO, students, staff, and parents! Well done!
*We will be offering a fruit and vegetable snack three days a week for all of our K-5 students starting on Monday, October 3rd. We feel that this a great opportunity for our kiddos to have a healthy snack during the school day. Please contact the HP office if you have any questions or concerns.
*HP offers breakfast each morning for our kiddos. We open the doors for breakfast at 7:40AM. Please contact the HP office for more information.
*PAWS Scores: Our PAWS scores from last year have placed us in the top tier of elementary schools in the state. Our staff and students have worked extremely hard to make HP one of the best schools in the state!
*Phone Dialer System: HP has installed an automatic phone dialer/email contact system. The system will automatically place calls and/or send messages to our parents when we need to contact them. For example, parents will be receiving a message from the school regarding Parent-Teacher Conferences. We will also be using the system for overdue lunch accounts and absences.
**Husky Star Program! Each week our teachers will be selecting the HP Husky Star in each classroom. The award recognizes students that go "above and beyond" the expected level of expectations we have at HP. The Husky Star Program recognizes academics, behavior, attendance, and other qualities of a role model student. We will be holding an all-school assembly at the end of each month to recognize these students. We invite the parents for these celebrations. Please contact the office if you have any questions or concerns.
*We are looking for parent volunteers to help us at lunch time or in the classroom, especially with our K-1 students. The time would be from approximately 11:30-12:00, and would involve helping our younger students get their trays, finding their tables, and helping them in any way necessary. In the classroom parent volunteers can help in a number of ways. Parents can come up anytime and help with lunch, but please contact your child's teacher first if you plan on volunteering in the classroom.
*WE need the cooperation of our parents when dropping your students off for school at HP. Please use the front entrance area only. The bus zone area is reserved strictly for buses. Please do not drop your students off in that area, or in the street adjacent to the zone.
*Students who want to purchase a milk at lunch time must have money in their account. Money will no longer be accepted in the lunch line. Please contact the HP office if you have any questions.
