Mastering addition and subtraction facts is much more than flash cards and memorization. The CCSS expect that children will be able to fluently add and subtract within 20 using mental strategies by the end of grade 2. Come find out how to help your students develop and apply structuring number strategies to master addition and subtraction facts. You will also learn how to teach your students to apply these mental strategies to higher decade addition and subtraction.
This is Valerie's 30th year of teaching! She currently teaches 2nd grade at Sagebrush Elementary in Sheridan. She has taught 1st grade, 2nd grade, Title 1, Reading Recovery, and Math Recovery.
