Session Description:

Nonfiction is the most accessible genre which makes it a terrific genre for primary grade kids.  Kids glean information in many ways with nonfiction. The graphs, charts, illustrations, photos etc. combine to make it highly visual as well as text based.  When processing nonfiction, readers need to view closely the images and features to enhance their understanding. Primary grade nonfiction readers need to merge their thinking with the text and visual information to learn, understand and remember it.
