Fort Mackenzie Equine Class Captures First Place Prize

Teri Rowland’s 2016 Spring Equine class was awarded first place in the 2016 National Ag Day Video Contest for their video, “Healthy Planet, Happy Horses.”  The students were awarded $250 scholarship from the Powder River Basin Resource Council.  The contest was opened to all Sheridan County high school students and the theme was:  ”Agriculture: Stewards of a Healthy Planet.”  The contest took place in conjunction with National Ag Day 2016.  The video requirements were to define sustainable agriculture, discuss how sustainable farming and ranching practices contribute to a healthy planet and describe the benefits of sustainable agriculture to their local community.  Would you like to know more?  Please watch the winning video linked below.  We are so proud of our students.  Way to go equine students!
