Ft. Mackenzie Aquatic Biology Adventures Teach Value of Watersheds

This quarter, Teri Rowland's 2nd Block Aquatic Biology class is studying an important part of the Sheridan ecosystem - the Goose Creek Watershed. A trip to Mavrakis Pond not only gave these students the chance to learn about canoeing, but reinforced that a healthy watershed plays an important role in the area's recreational opportunities.

This academic experience allows students to learn about the importance of healthy watersheds and teaches them how they play a role in Sheridan's quality of life and the value in preserving the quality of our watersheds. The class will take additional field trips throughout the quarter to study the Goose Creek Watershed and experience other opportunities made possible from its presence.
