Over the weekend, junior Sheridan Bronc wrestler Hayden Hastings added to his already impressive high school wrestling resume. Hastings traveled to Virginia Beach, Virginia to participate in the NHSCA National Wrestling Championships. Hastings slated himself against the nations best high school junior 160 pounders from across the US. The 2x Wyoming state-champion proved his worth, placing 4th in a field of 81 participants to earn his second All-American distinction of the year. Hastings put together a string of wins to go a perfect 4-0 the first day of competition to reach the quarterfinals. Hastings would eventually fall in a hard fought bout 9-5 in the quarters to eventual runner-up finisher, Travis Stefanik of Pennsylvania the following day. The junior then bounced back and rattled off 3 straight victories including a 3-1 win in the consolation quarterfinal round over Max Andreoni of Kentucky to guarantee himself a top-eight finish and All-American honors. Hastings boasted a 7-2 record to place fourth. Click here to see bracket
