John B. Kendrick FFA Competition Success April 8-11

The Wyoming State Future Farmers of America (FFA) competition in Cheyenne April 8-11 was a successful venture for the Sheridan High School (SHS) students who attended the competition. The livestock judging event often has the most participating teams of any event, so it was exciting to see SHS John B. Kendrick Chapter livestock judging teams place first in swine, second in sheep, and third in beef. The SHS team also scored second in oral reasons. The John B. Kendrick Chapter received the award for overall leadership sweepstakes for participation in leadership competitions.

As the State Champion Overall Team, the Livestock Team the livestock judging team members of Gabby Koltiska, Chaney Peterson, Makayla Mayfield, and Bell Ward, along with Chaney Peterson, as the prepared public speaking champion, will represent Wyoming at the National FFA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky, in October. Additionally, Chaney Peterson was elected to be the Sentinel on the 2015-2016 state FFA officers team.  Please encourage these students as they compete for national championships.
