The Wright Place Stretch Reading Group sponsored its' 5th Annual “Fruit and Nut Party” in the library, the Friday before break. The party is a seasonal celebration exploring traditional treats. Students design and print invitations and deliver them personally to all WP students and staff. Stretch students arrange everything on the tables and then welcome their guests and invite them to partake of the oranges and crack some nuts. While nut cracking is a very old tradition some have not experienced it before so there is a sharing of nut cracking techniques. The students also serve tea and juice. It was a very enjoyable morning despite the fact that there was no candy or cookies!
