Sheridan Hosts All-State Band, Choir, and Orchestra Clinic and Wyoming Music Educators Association January 18-20

Sheridan High School will be hosting the 68th Wyoming Music Educators Association Professional Development Conference in conjunction with the Wyoming All-State Band, Choir, and Orchestra Clinic. Over 450 of Wyoming's finest high school music students and music educators throughout the state will meet at Sheridan High School January 18-20. While at SHS, the students will rehearse for two days culminating in a gala concert on Tuesday, January 20th at 7:00 pm in the SHS gymnasium. The Wyoming High School Activities Association, together with the Wyoming Music Educators Association, sponsor this annual event. Tickets for the gala concert are $5.00 for adults and $4.00 for K-12 students.

Sheridan High School will kick off the event with our host night concert on Sunday, January 18 at 7:30 pm. This concert is free to the public. Razmick Sarkissian's orchestra and Lovell's elementary school were selected to play from a state wide audition process. In addition, as hosts, we are allowed to perform our own thirty-minute section, which will be filled with the Sheridan Children's and Youth Chorale, SHS African Marimbas, and Suzie Schatz-Benson's Sheridan County Super Choir! The Super Choir is comprised of 100+ Sheridan County residents and will be accompanied by the Sheridan High School Symphony.

The students were selected for All-State through an audition process, and once again, Sheridan has the highest representation of student musicians in the state with 13 choir, 25 band, and 27 orchestra students being chosen for this honor.

The students will spend two full days in rehearsal with nationally known guest conductors for the final concert, while the educators are attending various educational workshops.
