At Story Elementary, we are learning to be leaders in the classroom, at recess, and in our community. As part of our daily morning meetings, we have been discussing Sean Covey’s 7 Habits of Happy Kids. These habits are: Be Proactive, Begin with the End in Mind, Put First things First, Think Win-Win, Seek First to Understand Then to be Understood, Synergize, and Sharpen the Saw. We have talked about each of the habits and how we can practice them in our own lives. Students have taken an active role in problem solving and working to understand how other people might feel when they have a disagreement. They come to our meeting every morning excited to share how they are applying these habits at school and at home. Currently, we are practicing the habit of "Sharpen the Saw" by completing some projects designed to help people in our community. We are working hard to be leaders each and every day!
