Sheridan High School will be the site of a Wyoming Supreme Court trial on April 22nd at 9:00 am. The justices will hold their appellate court in the Sue Henry Auditorium to hear a certified question from a federal court in a ticketed event. The case that the judges will hear is related to Black Hills Power vs. the State of Wyoming, deciding if the State of Wyoming may reclaim fire damage costs from a fire named to be the fault of Black Hills Power.
Tyson Emborg, Advanced Placement Government Teacher, said that students from around the county have been invited to observe the proceeding. The justices will not decide the outcome of the hearing until later, but they will field general questions about procedure and law following the hearing.
