On March 20th 2014 families attended Woodland Park’s Math night. Together, parents and their children shared a meal while listening to Math Coordinator; Sherry
Thompson, present ways to practice structuring numbers at home.
During the remainder of the evening, families attended two sessions in different grade levels. The sessions consisted of grade level activities parents and students could
partake in at home. The sessions included learning about games to play to strengthen math skills, expectations at different grade levels, and new algorithms used in our district’s math curriculum. At each session attendees were entered into a drawing for a
door prize. Prizes consisted of math games, math manipulatives, and even iTunes cards. Families were also given a list of iPad apps, and websites that are great for online math learning. Below is a list of apps and websites that are useful for at home learning!
